Cooper Point was known as Tca'kwebeks whicm means "a piled up promontary where someone saw four seals piled up with a white one on top." Lucia has not seen seals there, but the point itself is shaped like a seal and is white on top. Cooper Point was named after John Cooper, an armorer on the 1841 Wilkes Expedition who surveyed the area.
